The six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission offers the excitement of a stick shift with the convenience of an automatic. The wheel-mounted paddle shifters on the 2015 Lincoln MKC allow you to shift gears quickly without taking your hands off the steering wheel. Or, simply relax and let the automatic mode glide efficiently through all six speeds.
Electric power-assisted steering (EPAS) is an important component in the Lincoln Drive Control system. EPAS provides an easy, fluid steering feel at low speeds and a firmer, more controlled feel at higher speeds. And that’s not all. It also constantly adapts to changing road conditions and compensates for irregularities caused by factors such as a crowned road surface and crosswinds. You won’t feel the system working, but you’ll experience a pleasant sense of assurance.
Available in the 2015 MKC, with 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque on tap, the 2.3L EcoBoost® offers the most horsepower and torque per cylinder in its class. But its power is gained less by flexing muscles than it is by using its brain. It pairs three brilliant technologies — turbocharging, direct injection and twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT).
At the heart of the MKC lies a responsive 240-horsepower 2.0L EcoBoost® engine, which uses three technologies — the boost of turbocharging, the precision and efficiency of direct injection, and the sophistication of twin independent variable cam timing (Ti-VCT). The result is a standard MKC powertrain that’s as intelligent as it is highly motivated.
The available panoramic Vista Roof® in the Lincoln MKC lends a modern, open sensibility while providing both the first- and second-row passengers with an expansive view. The Vista Roof comes with a power sunshade to help keep your vehicle cool when the temperature heats up.
The wings of this signature grille spread outward to seamlessly frame the dramatic HID headlamps with signature LED accents. The grille continues to flow upward with the contours of the hood to create a unified, sleek and modern design.
Create a soothing atmosphere with available ambient lighting in seven colors. Light emits from the front-console cupholders, door-release handles, front and rear footwells, and front-door storage pockets. Choose the color that matches your mood.
Active noise control heightens overall cabin sound quality by reducing unwanted noises while enhancing desired sound to help provide a more pleasant driving experience. Microphones monitor the sound profile of the cabin, which is then replicated and inverted by a signal processor to create an opposing acoustic wave through the speakers. When the opposing wave meets the original sound wave, they cancel each other out. It’s addition by subtraction. It’s especially effective in the low frequency/pitch range.
Lincoln offers cutting-edge technology in the available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with class-exclusive cross-traffic alert to help make driving more convenient. BLIS uses radar in the rear quarter panels to identify a vehicle entering your blind spot and alerts you with an indicator light in the sideview mirror. Cross-traffic alert also uses radar to detect vehicles approaching from either side when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or your driveway. If it detects a vehicle approaching from up to 15 yards away, it sends an audible warning, a visual display in the sideview mirror, and a signal in the message center.
It happens at times to the best of drivers – unintentionally drifting out of the driving lane. That’s when you’ll appreciate the available Lane-Keeping System. When activated, the system can detect when the car is drifting out of its lane and warn you through a subtle vibration in the steering wheel. Additional settings allow the system to apply a steering torque that assists you to steer back to the correct path.
